Premier LogiTech Receives Job-Training Grant from Texas Workforce Commission

Manufacturing and Logistics Consortium partners with Cedar Valley College

Grand Prairie, TX, November 12, 2014  – Premier LogiTech announces a grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for job training. A Manufacturing and Logistics Consortium, comprised of Premier LogiTech, Central State Manufacturing, and Romark Texas partnered with Cedar Valley College to provide job training using a $137,212 Skills Development Fund grant. TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Ronny Congleton presented the check.

The grant will be used to custom train 92 new and incumbent workers to provide specialized training in programmable logic control, lean practices, electrical basics, supply chain management, safety and more.  Those trained will include production workers, equipment operators, warehouse associates and supervisors.

“Our Skills Development Fund grants serve everyone well,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Ronny Congleton.  “Workers get the specialized training they need and the communities benefit from a more highly skilled workforce.”

From the program’s inception in 1996 through 2013, Skills Development Fund grants have created or upgraded more than 300,456 jobs throughout Texas. The grants have assisted 2,971 employers with their customized training needs.

 “We are pleased to receive this grant for the opportunity it provides our employees to learn and grow,” said CEO Darryl Smith. He continued, “we’ve increased employment threefold since we acquired this company in 2007. We are committed to providing jobs and helping our employees develop and grow.”
